In 2021 I painted a dragon. The jawline, teeth and eye are from various crocodilians. The face scales are somewhere between a Komodo dragon and an iguana, and the spikes were painted taking inspiration from alligator neck scutes. hgpenningtonart.com/other/dragon

In 2023 I painted my cousin's cat as Boudica queen of the Iceni. The head and paws are those of cat Boudica, whereas the helmet, clothes and posture are that of Queen Boudica from the painting “Boadicea Haranguing the Britons” by John Opie. hgpenningtonart.com/other
