I have read numerous books by President Carter, and have followed him for years, even though my politics tend to be more conservative. He was kind enough to respond twice to letters I had written him. I am grieving already at his entering hospice care.

A dear friend of mine bequeathed me an entire collection of CDs, left by his sister. Included is one by Alan Jackson --Alan Jackson==--the CD entitled "Greatest Hits Volume II." My favorites, so far, are "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning?" and "Remember When?"

A good friend bequeathed to me CDs left by his sister. One was of Nat King Cole, and another of his daughter, Natalie. I heard the depth of soul rendered in these numbers, and immediately thought of #Cynthia Basinet. Could she do for them what she did for Eartha Kitt?

Twenty years ago today, Johnny Cash went to his reward. Part of my CD-collection inheritance this summer, from a friend, included Johnny's "16 Biggest Hits" album. As I listened in honor of him today, I kept thinking: "Hats off to Johnny Cash. and the legends he created!"
