As someone who requires live in care I know it takes a lot of on the job learning for home care. Having proper care in place allows me to work. Without it I couldn’t do what I do. At all. Those who require care and give care deserve respect.

Today's performative clampdown on migrants will gut our care homes of desperately needed staff. We're *already* short of over 150k carers. Banning foreign care workers will increasing the suffering of society's most vulnerable members & pressures on the NHS. Sheer madness.

So is the government’s plan to take away vital benefits from disabled people (to get them into work because apparently we’re just scroungers) then ban carers from coming in so that disabled can carry out their own care? Genius! Don’t know why I didn’t just didn’t do that sooner.

Why WHY are the disabled front and centre of every government attack? We suffered for years under the Tories causing untold trauma. Finally we had a change and a bright future loomed, well, any brightness has vanished. The cloud is back and thunder is coming.

Back in February when I wrote about how Labour are making disabled people feel like burdens then allowing burden to be a reason for assisted dying I was met with scorn. This is exactly what I was talking about. Absolutely heartbreaking.

This is why the government’s cuts are profoundly stupid. Disabled people literally not able to work without the support. So the idea that it will get us back to work is a lie. All it does is push us out of society, more invisible and less cared for by society.

Government: "Big cuts to disability benefits are necessary to fund a small increase in support to find a job" Also government: Slashing Access to Work scheme that keeps us in work. Putting more people into poverty doesn't create jobs for people too sick to work. #TakingThePIP

Eight years after her death, a coroner today ruled that Jodey Whiting’s suicide was caused by the DWP cutting her benefits. This result is hard won by her mam Joy Dove who fought for justice. How many more will end up like Jodey if the cuts go ahead #TakingThePIP #CutsKill

Nina Tame perfectly sums up just how expensive it is to be disabled including for those already in work. People need to see cost of living disabled in a society so full of barriers & hurdles. #NotDead #DisabilityBenefits #TakingThePIP #DisabilityRebellion #DisabilityPriceTag

'The reason we have PIP is because it costs Disabled people £1,000 more each month to live to the same standard as non-disabled people, because of decisions Governments have made to not address that.' Kill the Welfare Reform Bill! 🎙️DR UK's Mikey Erhardt on LBC News today

i sometimes wonder if ‘journalists’ like Sarah are aware that they’re spreading lies for propaganda purposes, or if they genuinely lack the critical thinking and investigative skills that would actually make them a decent enough journalist to understand why this is a lie

The best way to save money and improve efficiency is stop testing disabled people to see if they’re actually disabled. Disability doesn’t suddenly stop. It wastes time and money constantly testing. All it does is makes disabled people feel fearful of having their dignity taken.

Before my accident I loved pushing myself physically. I pushed myself to do more and more. Even though I’m unable to do those exercises now, and only able to use a few muscles around my shoulders, I still love pushing myself.
