At their debate tournament this past weekend at SF Austen High School, Heights debaters swept the competition   In JV LD Debate, Harper Corona came in 6th place and Raquel Emiliano came in 5th place, congrats!!

In JV CX, Yamia Everline and Matthew Gordon-Gonzalez came in 8th, Nico Miller and Natalia Posadas in 6th, Mark Verde and Henry Wilcoxon in 5th, Alex Prieto and Katherine Stewart in 4th, Owen Caswell and Alara Eyuboglu came in 2nd, Olivia Bayse and Easton Peters came in 1st!!

Finally, In Varsity CX Debate, Steven Godinez and Alice Waters came in 1st place. congratulations to everyone who participated, y’all rocked!

At the Grand Oaks debate tournament this past weekend, Dean Ahmed and Jeremiah Jolivette (bobby) won first place!! This win means they officially qualified to the Texas Forensic Association State Championship tournament in March. CONGRATS!!!

This past weekend the heights debate team went to Austin to compete at UT! JV CX team Easton peters and Alara Eyuboglu made it to quaterfinals 😎. Congrats to all of the teams!

Heights Debaters competed at UIL CX State Tournament at UT Austin this past weekend! Heights Alara E/Easton P went 3-1, broke to octofinals, then lost a close debate on a 2-1 decision. HAIS Heidi C/Helen R went 3-1, broke to octofinals, and lost to Glen Rose HK

At the Heart of Texas Invitational hosted by St Marks, Alice Waters went 4-2 in prelims & broke to double octos. Double octos was the bid round for Tournament of Champions. She lost on a close 2-1 decision to the tournament runner-up who hadn't dropped a single ballot until then
