Today we are on a battlefield tour in Crete. (Actually on hols but couldn’t resist the diversion!) German military Cemetery.

Through the German archives, we have finally managed to put a face to the name. Here is a picture of Lieutenant Georg Muller, the soldier who took the glass home and whose family returned it decades later. The church is in the background.
