It’s time to go after the H-1B program. Imported cheap labor at the high-skill end of the curve is the most pernicious tax on productive Americans. Let American wages rise for Americans.

Notice how few defenses of Colbert involve him being funny or a great entertainer. It’s all about how important and sincere he was for the Message. He was a political activist with a podcast, losing insane loads of money, and they demand CBS keep subsidizing their activism.

The H-1B program should be halted - in its entirety - until the >3 million roles currently filled by them have been mostly replaced with US citizens. Perhaps some exceptions for elite talent - someone good enough to draw a top 1% US salary. And eliminate the PERM program.
