I miss when the database was the hot thing. What even is this?

I worked at one company that used teams. Most depressing work environment I have ever witnessed. Every company with slack at least made you feel human. If you don’t pay attention to these less tangible metrics, you’ll be surprised a lot.

Early employees matter way more than anyone wants to admit. Tech debt compounds faster than interest on money.

What if you’re wrong? What if this has been a colossal waste of energy, time, and money?

Terrible advice when universities haven’t even absorbed the complexity from the last 30 years, let alone the last 5. We need people who build systems well, period. Not a lot of that coming out of universities in the past decade.

It’s a good idea to make your own choices in times like these. If you look for advice from others, that’s just a coin flip. A lot of folks going all in on either side, with no hedge. Have a hedge, even if it is the ability to think for yourself.
