Yes, a further lockdown will be awful, it will be detrimental to mental health, the livelihoods of many, and education. It will also be the right thing to do because left unchecked, it will overwhelm the NHS. We are already 🤏 from the edge. You can believe in both things.

I wish it didn't take the tears of Azeem Rafiq to make people think or be 'heartbroken'. There will barely be a brown-skinned person in Britain who hasn't felt that smarting, holding back the tears feeling, while being told it was just banter.

Have thought about #AzeemRafiq all day. What an extraordinary person. I don’t know much about cricket - but then I don’t need to, because this isn’t really about cricket, or sport in general - it’s about ingrained cultural, structural racism and it is fucking awful.
