Just in time for the #UnquietShores conference next week that we are co-hosting with Haunted Shores, we have a new logo.

And now Monica Germana is speaking to us about selkie soundscapes! 🦭 🌊 #UnquietShores

So excited to be at #unquietshores conference with Haunted Shores today!! Already had the pleasure of attending fascinating talks on androgynous sirens in Victorian Art, mythic retellings as fluid, and even talking seals

Loved attending the Shoreline Creatures panel which included a deep dive into selkies and seal voices. Duolingo just needs to catch up and launch its seal language option. (PSA I'm also now avoiding tap water) #UnquietShores Haunted Shores

Listening to Madeline Potter on Coleridge’s ‘The Rime of the Ancient Mariner’, the lens of wet ontologies, and entanglements of being through the grotesque #unquietshores

Really interesting talk from Sontje Schulenburg on ‘Subsea Sounds and Non-Human Manifestation in Julia Armfield’s Our Wives Under the Sea’. She suggested that the exploration of the sea was akin to that of a haunted house - such a compelling idea! #UnquietShores Haunted Shores

At the close of day 2 for the #unquietshores #unquietshores2025 conference organised by Haunted Shores and we are treated to something special. 🌊 Indlela Yokuphila: The Soul's Journey (ZULU) 🌊 youtube.com/watch?v=lNm-Yf…

Day 3 of the Haunted Shores #UnquietShores conference and time to listen to Bettina Charlotte Burger’s Contemporary Coasts paper on ‘The Essex Serpent’!

Had a blast presenting at the #UnquietShores conference organized by Haunted Shores — thank you to the committee and to the fellow speakers for the excellent panels and talks we’ve had over the last 3 days! 🌊

A huge thanks to the team at Haunted Shores for running their beautiful and strange #UnquietShores conference at Edinburgh Napier this week. A wonderful three days of papers exploring coastal soundscapes, selkies, flooded villages, and a tidal wave of weird and uncanny content!
