Great day to learn some dirt work!

Tonight was my final night as a part time ops crew for my “off-season.” I learned a lot and really enjoyed being part of the crew. Now it’s time to get back to the regular scheduled program.

9th opening day in professional baseball. 5th as a Head Groundskeeper here in Wichita! Extremely blessed with a great crew!

Good first maintenance Monday of the year. V-cut one direction. Cross tine aeration! Dropping height to .7 and slinging pre-em tomorrow.

As other duties assigned, had to repair a foul pole today! Huge shoutout to Foley Rental for helping us out in a pinch.

Another project I’m excited about getting done was upgrading our dugout rails. Long overdue.

I continue to say this over and over. I have the best crew. One of my guys bought the shop a traeger because he got a good deal on it.

What people don’t talk about. Team is on the road. 9 hs games in 3 days. Just finished up a 14 1/2 hour day for 3 games and 5 pulls. With two rain delays. Glad we were able to be a great host, and get all the games in this year.

Starting to become a tradition. All four of our interns have learned how to pull cores, give them a quick tutorial on how to aerate and let them run.

Raising couplers is probably one of my least favorite things to do on the field. However it needs to be done. Some great conversations today and learning opportunities. Biggest one was showing the difference of black layer in high traffic areas vs non high traffic spots.
