Mike Trainor I was successful in establishing the BC Agricultural Land Reserve. Now I am working in the garden and I am taking it easy. At least BC has enough land to feed ourselves as the climate changes.

John Champagne In the 1960's I campaigned for sustainable development. In 1973 I was successful in having the British Columbia government protect farmland in BC for future food production when drought hits our suppliers. I've spent decades locally to make Richmond BC the greenest city in Canada

Weed Man West Vancouver (BC) As drought hits the Canadian Prairies it will be too dry for growing crops in some areas. Some areas further north will be productive, especially river valleys. Forest soils are less productive & best for growing grass for livestock. BC just flooded the Peace for #SiteC Dam

Sandy James Planner @sandyjamesplanner.bluesky Young Harold Steves, younger brother Joe, father Harold Sr. & grandfather McLaren planting a Victory Garden with Lum Poy's horse, 1944. During WWII 42% of food we consumed in Canada & the US was from Victory Gardens. Out worsening climate is becoming WWIII. We can do it again!

Jason McNamee Richmond BC In Richmond BC we adopted the idea, "Think globally, act locally." We fought to save farmland, major parks & BC's 1st trail system, allotment gardens & secondary sewage, stopped a tanker port, installed water metres & geothermal heat from parks & sewers. But others didn't follow
