#OnThisDayLastYear Occasionally when the photos app pops a notification up, it’s quite a nice reminder of some of the good stuff you see when testing the newer units. Pulled along side it outside Crewe both waiting a platform. 88007.

BRIGG LINE TO THE RESCUE 🍾 Possible landslip just outside Scunthorpe ? freight traffic now being diverted via the Brigg Line. TransPennine Express do not train their crews on the diversionary route via Brigg, their passengers now in replacement taxis and buses.

#ThursdayThirtyOne 31108 slows to stop just round the corner and then opens up to give the assembled photographers at Kinchley Lane a show. Everyone in the mint blue and grey MK1 was enjoying it too! A credit to the A1A group.

455866 and 455727 prepare to depart Waterloo to work 2G19 to Guildford via Cobham. @adamdoesphoto is on the Hampton Court behind as he needs 455707 for haulage, so I’ll take a lot of satisfaction in beating him to Wimbledon (he thinks I’m getting off to join him - yeah right 😂)

Freight rail fact 3: Freight rail is the most environmentally friendly way to move goods over land. It’s 3 to 4 times more fuel-efficient than trucks. A BNSF train can move one ton of freight nearly 500 miles on one gallon of diesel fuel. More about our sustainability

NEAR LANCASTER: 86/0s Continuing the AC hauled freight theme - a pair of 86/0s double up on a steel coil train. This was from a bit of line-siding we did on the way to the Lake District, probably in summer 1984. Not sure exactly where, probably near Bay Horse?
