نتائج مشجعة لمشروع دراسة الكتلة الحيوية للأسماك المستزرعة بإستخدام تقنيات الذكاء الإصطناعي والذي يتم تنفيذه بالتعاون بين كلية الهندسة في جامعة السلطان قابوس ومركز الإستزراع السمكي,تمثلت في تحقيق ما نسبته حوالي ٩٨% في إحتساب الكتلة الحيوية للأسماك عبر تقنيات الذكاء الإصطناعي

أنجز الفريق البحثي في المختبر مجموعة من التجارب على نظام رصد الملوثات في الشواطئ العمانية باستخدام المركبات غير المأهولة والمعززة بالذكاء الاصطناعي.

النظام يدمج مجموعة من التقنيات التي تسمح للقارب بالإبحار ذاتيًا إلى نقطة الهدف ومن ثم إطلاق المسيّرات المحمولة على متنه. تقوم المسيّرات بفحص المنطقة المنشودة ومن ثم إرسال النتائج إلى القارب لجمع العينات بشكل مأتمت. بعد ذلك تهبط المسيّرات على القارب، ويعود إلى نقطة الانطلاق.

النظام هو نتاج مشروع بحثي يهدف إلى تطوير منظومة قادرة على أتمتة رصد الملوثات وذلك لتقليص المدة الزمنية والتكاليف ولحماية المشغّلين من التعرض لخطر هذه الملوثات. استغرق إنجاز هذا المشروع سنوات من العمل الدؤوب، وساهم فيه نخبة من الأساتذة والطلبة والباحثين من داخل وخارج الجامعة.
