#Nepal. Leaders and their echo chambers, the media are undermining democracy by making lies sound like the truth, murder acceptable, manipulation of the judiciary a skill, corruption a way of life. Informed public participation & debate, cornerstone of any democracy is long dead.

#Nepal. EU banned Nepal airlines for failing safety & regulatory standards in 2013. Since then there have been 7 crashes, over 200 lives lost & the ban continues but nothing has changed. In the same period there have been 10 changes in govt. What is their excuse!!! Shameless

#Nepal. The visit visa scandal was not initiated by the current minister whose resignation is being demanded. It’s an informal corrupt system that has been in operation for decades & every party, leader, bureaucrat posted or linked to the airport is guilty. It’s a systems issue!!

#Nepal. The demand to form yet another high level investigation committee is another farce. Numerous such committed have been formed in the past, manned by unqualified political appointees and most of the reports are either not published or not acted upon & no persecutions!!

#Nepal. “At least we have the ability to speak freely” used to be the last line of defense by the puppets of the current system. What is their excuse now, moreover I think there is a difference between freedom of speech and a barking dog!! The citizens bark but leaders are deaf.

#Nepal. Let’s not celebrate too soon before we get engulfed by the “resource curse”. In a nation already rife with corruption will this gas reserve in Dolakha benefit the nation or like so many other nations engulf us in more corruption & even another round of civil war?

#Nepal. Signature campaign is ongoing but what is the underlying message? Judiciary is corrupt & politicized - they need to be pressured but on the other hand how many signature campaigns were held for Nirmala, Nand Kishor & hundred others who are non political ordinary citizens?

#Nepal. Many Nepalis have been deported & there are many Nepalis who smuggled their way into the US as Bhutanese. What is the govt. doing? Have any of these people been questioned & interviewed or are they too scared to open the Pandora’s box?

#Nepal. It’s not “Sarkar ko paisa”, the govt has no money. It’s the citizens money raised through taxes, loans, grants & aid to provide services. It’s a contract but if the govt spends it on self aggrandizement the citizens have the right to terminate it. Civil disobedience!!

#Nepal. All parties are preparing for 84 but none are telling the public what they will do once in power, how and by when. For starters can they lobby for NOTA as an option for the 84 elections? The public knows that they all, old & new, are merely wolves in sheep’s cloathing
