Had a young lady from Kentucky pop into practice to prep for Fargo while a family member is at Mayo Clinic. We got a new athlete to cheer for this weekend.

Girls began Fargo camp yesterday. The boys begin today up at Augsburg. It’s almost go-time!

As a coach who has next-to-zero accolades, you always wonder how much of an “impact” you’ve had on your athletes. They certainly don’t wrestle like I did. ….Then they open their mouths, and it’s both heart-warming and concerning simultaneously, how much they’ve “soaked up”. 😂

Hattie Mathre and Lauren Elsmore are on the mats today up in Fargo, wrestling 135 & 130, respectively. Our pal Maggie Olson is at 125. They’re ripping and roaring this morning, from the stream. It has begun. It’s officially #StopSignSZN.

These three awesome athletes finished up their tournaments. Couldn’t be more proud of them. They even snapped a group photo without me reminding… Great work, girls!

Corner throws brick. Brick is brought to head table to review. Corner wants brick back. Review official goes back and asks the athlete if they wanna decline now, long after the fact. Dirty politics.

Junior FS Session 1 just wrapped up. Kane Larson and Sam Winkels are 2-0 on the front side. Aiden Graner, Calder Sheehan, and Keagan Lowrie are all alive on the backside. Cadets will kick off at 4:00pm!

Owen Zabel, Carl Murray, and Nash Graner finished up their Cadet tournaments this evening. Mason Zabel is alive on the back side for tomorrow afternoon's session!

Juniors just finished up their morning session. It was exhilarating and exhausting, but unfortunately we won’t advance anyone to Day 3. Mason Zabel picks up our action this afternoon in the Cadet session at 3pm.

Mason Zabel ends our run in FS this afternoon after notching a win and falling in the following round. It’s just me and Big Sam Winkels later in the week for Greco. Wasn’t maybe what we all wanted, but we did it our way. I wouldn’t wanna fight with anybody else.

I went 3-0 on bricks today, so if anybody wants a seminar, I’m available for booking.

I think it’s Friday. Junior Greco is about to rev up. Big Sam Winkels and I start the tournament off this morning until 2pm. Here we go.

Winkels goes 2-0 in the morning session to enter the round of 16 tomorrow morning!

9AM go time this morning for Greco Finals Day. Blessed with the opportunity to have a dog in the hunt. It’s a great day to get back on the board.

Winkels drops his bouts in the morning, ending our tournament. The world could use more Sam Winkels’. I guarantee I’ve learned just as much, if not more, from him than he has me.

On the road to Owen Pharo’s wedding down in Iowa. I wonder if his soon-to-be wife is aware of the goofy socks and shoes this kid would wrestle in back in the day.

By the time Fargo hits, the kids are snapping at me, snapping at eachother, and I’m exhausted from a tough 11 months. 2 weeks into “break” and I’m already itching, parents are reaching out, and kids are asking when we start back up. There’s nothing like wrestling.

Got the pleasure of heading north to catch the Welcome Home for club alum Derek Meincke. He was in the ME with the National Guard for the last year. Everything positive in our alumni’s adult lives is earned. Proud is an understatement.
