Today we went for a walk around our school. We explored lots of the different classrooms and got to spend time with some of the grown ups that work in different areas of the school, and some of our friends, siblings and cousins from other classes. What an adventure!

In preparation for tomorrow’s pancake making in the cooking area, we had a practice run with play dough and my oh my! If these creations are anything to go by, tomorrow’s snack will be very delicious! We definitely have some budding bakers on our hands!! 🥞🧑‍🍳✨

Fun Friday the children made the most of the outdoor area and sunshine. A home was made for a woodlouse, a nuclear shelter with pop up roof, a tent and the girls made natural soup using leaves and had an outdoor picnic.

This young lady completed the Summer reading challenge. Well done we’re all very proud of you.

Forest school session, the children were asked to choose one of Mrs Forest Jones items and make a fairy house incorporating that item. Lots of lovely ideas and teamwork.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the arrival of autumn today! We had a special Harvest assembly singing “Cauliflower’s fluffy”, made vegetable soup and created artwork using crunchy autumnal leaves. We all looked fantastic in our autumn colours too!

Delighted to see this! Following the hugely successful taster lessons at school by Team Davey Kickboxing/Torfaen Dragons this young man joined the club & began his kick boxing journey. He has now gained his orange belt & we are very proud of him! Brilliant!@GSPriYear2

Year 2 have had a fabulously busy day today celebrating bonfire night. We have watched a fireworks display, enjoyed hot dogs, learnt about sparklers, Guy Fawkes, how to keep safe and have lots of fun with our friends.

We learnt all about Armistice day today and were super proud of the children showing their respect during the 2 minute silence. The children were eager to find the reasons for different coloured poppies and created some beautiful Poppy collages.

What a busy term we have had in Year 2. We finished it off magically this week with; a special visit from Santa and hosting our Christmas market with beautiful singing and handmade gifts. Today we had fun making delicious Santa pancakes! Merry Christmas to everyone!

Huge congratulations to HL Miss Bodger & Mrs Fisher who has worked so hard and gained this fantastic belt! We were all thrilled yo see some of his impressive moves! Well done! 🎊 👏
