Congratulations to Tiisetso Sefatsane, an MWF alumna, for her recent participation in an MWF reciprocal exchange! As part of the exchange, Tiisetso hosted her advisor, Ivan Ball, and his colleague, Scott Massey, at her farm in Ha Abia, Maseru.

Tiisetso founded Agrihive, a company dedicated to safeguarding the food security of 🇱🇸. Thanks to MWF, Agrihive is transitioning to aeroponics, an adv farming technique that sprays a nutrient solution over plant roots in a closed loop, increasing plant yield per sq m.

Aeroponics, according to Tiisetso, will substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions by growing food locally and minimizing food miles. Agrihive's aeroponics system is entirely solar-powered, operating independently of any electrical grid reliance.

In the spirit of knwldge xchng, Tiisetso & Scott hosted grade 9 ag students frm Thetsane English Medium School at the farm, introducing them to aeroponics system farming. The students even had the hands-on experience of transplanting spinach seedlings using the aeroponics system!
