Unless you walk in the shoes it’s almost impossible to understand what it feels like to be at the receiving end of the death of a loved one. We can talk about it but it’s not the same as actually experiencing grief.

I wish people knew that we need their support weeks, months, and even years later. Grief doesn’t just end because the person starts getting back to regular life routines.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel. And there is no tunnel. The light is you. Has always been you. Will always be you. #Grief #light #ThursdayThought

Just when you think you have a handle on grief for the moment, a tsunami of sadness hits you out of nowhere. #grief #siblingloss #suddenloss #cancer #pulmonaryhypertension

All within one hour I will feel: happy about something, on the verge of a panic attack, grateful about something, so sad I want to cry, etc... Grief does a number on your emotions.

I often hear, “Are you okay now or still sad?” As if sadness for a loss disappears. You don’t see this with the happiness emotion. “Are you still happy with the birth of your son?” “Are you still happy that you moved into a beautiful house?”

Haven’t tweeted in a year...grief is still here. I will carry it with me always. Miss you, brother. Your life was cut too short. You didn’t deserve this. #Cancer
