As much as we (I) all had fun mocking Cloudflare's meltdown, I have to absolutely give them credit for fixing the problem quickly, issuing a good RFO and admitting it was human error plus process failure. I hope the engineers in question were all in the pub by 8pm.

Like most reasonably competent network engineers, I carry in my backpack & handbag a range of spares, adapters & cables. My makeup bag still has some sealed couplers in, because you just never know. Today though, the day was saved by a small, unassuming duck instead.

Less than 12 hours notice for #manchesterlockdown but the fine is £50. That's less than the day of childcare even if I could arrange it in time for today (which I can't). Once again women will be the ones negatively impacted in this.
