Today sees the release of the second Retreat From Moscow album ‘Dreams, Myths and Machines’. I’ve been a member of this band for 45 years, so to work on an album of new material has been an exciting, creative journey.

Twenty years ago I was asked by Manic Street Preachers to produce ‘Lifeblood’ following on from the work done by the legendary Tony Visconti. I cannot express how much it has meant to me knowing the album has finally found a much loved place in their lexicon.

Patrick Jones’ (patrick jones) debut album Commemoration & Amnesia is 25! A powerful collection of music & poetry produced by Greg Haver, it featured cameos from James Dean Bradfield, Nicky Wire, John Lawrence, Gruff Rhys, Cian Ciarán, Derrero, Topper, Pink Assassin and Curveside.

It’s been hard to process losing the wonderful Martin Phillipps so suddenly. Martin invited me to be part of his incredible musical legacy, but he became my friend. I will miss his gentle soul. Sending love to T H E C H I L L S family and to all who cherished him.

Cardiff friends: I’ll be joining Neil Collins to talk about his wonderful book ‘International Velvet: How Wales Conquered the 90’s Charts’ on Tuesday the 26th of November at The Moon in Cardiff at 7.30pm. I’m only in Wales a few days so come along for a drink and a catch up.
