Lots of busy activity at Dr Mackay's Wood in Juniper Green making another dead hedge to improve the safety at the top of the wood. Lots of hard work to get the foundations in and now we're filling it up with sticks to create lots of habitat for wildlife.

Had glorious weather for a Nordic walk along the River Almond towards Cramond. A lovely route to get the body moving and beautiful views from Grotto Bridge really cheered the soul.

Our Redhall walking group kicked off the week with a lovely walk around Curriemuirend Park, near Juniper Green. It was a new place for everyone and great to explore together. The flowers were blooming and we were treated to some stunning Marsh Orchids! What a wee hidden gem.

We dodged the downpours today with LEAP Branching Out at the Astley Ainslie and did some wonderful shadow drawing, made some Antony Gormley-inspired figures, felt the benefits of standing in the rain then wrote our own group poem about the sounds of nature.

We enjoyed using hand lenses to have a closer look at wildflowers and ladybirds, and took in the incredible views from Meadowfield Park and Arthur's Seat with Branching Out with Streetwork.

Thank you John and Constantina from Herbal Scotland for another informative and tasty herbal walk in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. We 'enjoyed' fermented nettles as well as elderflower cordial.

A beautiful morning for a beach wander with our friends from Team Nature Nordic and All Ability Wellbeing Walks. We enjoyed learning about shells and appreciated the granite fish carving by Ronald Rae. Beautiful views across the Firth of Forth too!

Our Oxgangs walkers enjoyed a trip to Fairmilehead Park this week for some refreshing views and exercise, passing the old fresh water pump house from the 1600's.

Another sunny but blustery health walk from Bangholm Medical Practice. We visited Victoria Park and the surrounding paths. We’d love to learn more about the history of the park sometime soon.

Our latest Nordic walking technique course is well underway way. It's fantastic to share the health and wellbeing benefits including improved posture, boosting fitness levels and supporting strength and balance. Well done everyone.

Our Nordic walk this week was around the beautiful Heriot Watt University grounds. We managed to avoid the rain and made the most of the fresh air and exercise together.
