We’ve been all about the books this week in the library. Reading books with friends, discussing books, and using stop motion in our book clubs!

Happy Anniversary PIE! We love out Partners in Education. Some All-Stars got to celebrate with MU Womens Basketball team.

School's out for summer! We did a lot this year like these 5th grade designed Buddy Benches to honor all cultures at Grant and give kids a place to hang together. This project came out of Cultural Migration studies of Boone County.

Today be inspired by 4th grade. They mapped, named, and collected data on our campus trees. This begins the Grant School Tree Field Guide, an on going PBL project.

Third Grade designed weather decorations using different shape apps, stencils were made from recycled posters, and now Grant School weather stations are ready for data collection and climate studies.

Grant Maker Friday in the Ecoschoolhouse! 4th grade studied tree cookies. 4th grade studied tree structure. 4th grade discussed tree drawings and models 4th grade made tree diagrams using products originating as trees! #scholarsfirst

Grant School Maker Fridays! Mrs. William’s and Mrs. Seek’s All Stars studied seeds. Some tried Paw paws!!! We read Ada’s Violin. We enjoyed art and music from Hispanic artists. We made shakers!!!!

Great time watching 5th grade craft sundials. Ancient culture, astronomy, science methods, and more. Especially sunshine. Good day.

5K today: Ecoschoolhouse history. Community projects at Grant. Ecoscholhouse documentary by Ken Leija/Avery Danziger. Made materials for Kinder maker space. Made the office a sunflower bouquet from our plant that perished in the storm last night.

KLeake makerspace: enjoyed favorite alphabet books. Practiced letters by making signs for the Ecoschoolhouse. Great group of future creators here!

Kinder Garden Party. All Stars enjoyed our story walk of Actual Size by Steve Jenkins. Kindergarten planted and cared for red lettuce and we celebrated today with our harvest. The actual size of our red lettuce was up to 6 unifix cubes!

Here’s a few examples of our Positiviruses. Students learned about viruses and how they spread. They made their own viruses that spread positivity. Enjoy!
