We’re reviewing how to write efficient dot-jots.

We’re learning about algebraic equations with more than 1 variable, so students made some fun “picture puzzles” and worked on solving a classmates’ puzzle. 🧩

We started off today by working on our reading fluency: reading and taking notes about different New Year’s traditions around the world. 🌎

We reviewed properties of quadrilaterals in groups, thinking about angles, sides, symmetries and diagonals.

Our class participated in a lino-block printing making workshop this week. First steps were to sketch a design and transfer it onto the lino, then carve it out with special tools.

Next steps for lino-block printing was to roll the ink and transfer it into paper. Check out a couple of our finished prints!

Students love to share their strategies! We worked on how to find the area of a trapezoid by decomposing it into areas of shapes we already knew, like triangles and rectangles. @GS_Gators

Students worked together in this math congress: what dimensions could a slice of cake in the shape of a rectangular prism and a triangular prism have, if we want them to have similar surface area? 🍰
