We joined the Haemophilia Foundation of Uganda and leadership of Ntungamo to commemorate the World hemophilia day. The event was graced with sensitizing health workers, village health team members (VHTs), district and local leaders and the general public about haemophilia.

The severity of a person's bleeding disorder usually depends on the amount of clotting factor that is missing or not functioning. People with hemophilia can experience prolonged or uncontrolled bleeding that can result from a seemingly minor injury.

Bleeding into joints and muscles causes severe pain and disability while bleeding into major organs, such as the brain, can cause death. Most of such cases are ignorantly mistaken for witchcraft and all sorts of socially inspired assumptions thus need for increased awareness
