Sometimes I find it funny how concerned we are with fictional characters doing things "for a reason" and "acting with motivation" when humans in reality do really dumb things all the time without knowing why. Anyway, welcome to my whatever talk, I guess.

The best way to get my attention via query letter: Give me a unique, atmospheric setting that adds to the plot and shapes the character’s journey. Setting as a character is my jam. #amquerying #mswl

For most people, rejection means failure. But for a writer, rejection means that you're trying, and it gives you the chance to believe in yourself (and story) that much more.
