Really proud of these two studies Jin-Feng Zhao and Abbie Brewer! Targeted dephosphorylation by small bivalent molecules is feasible and can rewire signalling! Well done to everyone involved and great collaboration with Kei Sakamoto and Dario Alessi.

Excited to reveal our new chemical-genetic system to inhibit PP2A-B56 phosphatase. We use this to characterise its substrates and roles during mitosis. This is a simple yet powerful approach to inhibit any enzyme/protein relying on SLiM-based interactions biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

New paper (royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs…) by Sapkota Lab PhD student Lorraine Glennie establishes the molecular basis for pathogenesis of PKP caused by a novel mutation in FAM83G. Excellent collaboration with clinical team led by Amaia Lasa-Aranzasti from Vall d'Hebron.

The final work from my PhD The Francis Crick Institute is out today in Open Biology The Royal Society! Using zebrafish, we show that the poorly understood, oncogenesis-related gene Fam83f plays roles in larval hatching and the DNA damage mediated autophagic response. 🐟🧬1/2 royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs…

🎉 I am thrilled to share that our latest work on is now publicly available on bioRxiv. The title is "Mutations within the predicted fragment-binding region of FAM83G/SACK1G abolish ints interaction with the Ser/Thr kinase CK1α".
