So, Rachel Riley MBE 💙. I think you need to read this exposé of the #HelloHydrogen campaign that you have been supporting. I have the greatest respect for your analytical skills - dive in and you'll see how the gas industry is using dirty tricks to delay the demise of their cash cow.
The government has binned its proposal for a yearly £120 levy on household energy bills to fund hydrogen subsidies. But gas network operators will be able to pass on the charge to consumers to finance the #BlueHydrogen and #CCS fossil fuel industry scam. hydrogeninsight.com/policy/uk-scra…
Should have gone #battery #electric Steve Rotheram 😉
Important warning from International Energy Agency that government's hydrogen plans are not yet backed by the policies needed to turn a growing low carbon project pipeline into actual production capacity. businessgreen.com/news/4127819/t…
As Michael Liebreich - @MLiebreich.bsky.social has repeatedly warned, currently hydrogen is not really a low carbon industry at all. Low carbon hydrogen has a critical role to play in the net zero transition, but a hell of a lot of progress is needed very, very quickly.
A hydrogen lobby group which represents the UK's major gas firms is 25% owned by JCB heir and H2 investor Jo Bamford. Beyond2050 is registered at the same address as Bamford's @ryzehydrogen but keeps quiet about its connection to Bamford and Ryze. Hmmmmm 🤔hydrogeninsight.com/transport/excl…
Cheshire West This is rich coming from CWaC which is set to approve plans by @EssarUK to build a #BlueHydrogen production plant as part of HyNet. Blue H2 has a GHG footprint 20% bigger than gas, so to help the planet and help the borough cut its carbon emissions, councillors should vote NO.
"All car manufacturers complied with ZEV mandate last year to escape government fines" Turns out that the car industry's claims that it was really struggling, that were duly reported repeatedly by large sections of the press, weren't entirely accurate thisismoney.co.uk/money/electric…
