Pat should stop pontificating. My column in Tuesday's Connaught Telegraph We don't line pitches, we rake bunkers, we sell lotto tickets and bring kids to matches also. The GAA doesn't have a monopoly on volunteering; we're involved in golf "because we want to do it." #JustSaying

An extremely proud day for all Irish golfers to see our governing body Golf Ireland launch this partnership with the magnificent people of the Samaritans. A wonderful gesture and I'm looking forward to see how I can assist their efforts going forward in 2025. #116123

Storm Éowyn was no friend of golf. My column in Tuesday's Connaught Telegraph Volunteering for major work may not be an option with obvious concerns surrounding members’ ability, their willingness to take direction, and of course insurance issues. #PONGW

Volunteerism is alive & well in golf. My column in Tuesday's Connaught Telegraph The first brigade to mobilise themselves were those members whose names are filled under the heading “OK for a 03:00hrs call” on most spreadsheets. Funny when they all turn up the average age is 70+.

There is absolutely nothing stronger for your business brain than a strong Airbnb review so early in the season. I'm looking forward to 2025. #CeadMileFailte

A call to action for the golf sector. My column in Tuesday's Connaught Telegraph It is time for action and whether clubs decide to plough their furrow alone or join together as a community we must look for assistance in our time of need. #PONGW

If you want to know about our PING Open Wednesdays, golfing festivals on the Bank Holiday weekends, prepare for the Irish Amateur Close Championship, or join your local PGA professional at our Pro-Am event to be held in September; don't hesitate just come along and say hello!

The business of golf. My column in Tuesday's Connaught Telegraph For an industry, particularly in the west of Ireland that depends heavily on tourist footfall, the approach championed by Ray Kinsella is simply not an option.

Excellent night representing Westport at the Fáilte Ireland Golf Information Evening in Belfast. The PING Golf Europe Open Wednesdays beginning in mid-April, our Scratch Cup series on June 2nd, and our ProAm in September were all enthusiastic conversational topics at our stand.

A gathering of golfers in Belfast. My column in Tuesday's Connaught Telegraph (Special thanks to Fáilte Ireland for hosting.) It is nice to witness the energy & enthusiasm from those who are at the top table when topics surrounding the Open Championship and Ryder Cup are on the agenda.

The Winter League is over. My column in Tuesday's Connaught Telegraph One can also look forward to a similar vibe in a few weeks when Connaught welcomes Munster to the county town but on reflection, I’m not quite sure how many of the sheepskin coat crowd play golf in Mayo.

Started my bucket when I was 50. Don't stress in your 30s & 40s about travel. You'll have enough time (put all your energy into the kids.)

I'm just back from a mini-break in Turkey. The service and value for money from Ryanair was as excellent as it always is. Not everybody's cup of tea, but I've never had an issue. #JustSaying
