We are working furiously to update our map of #coronavirus-related school closures. We've been adding schools on the day their closures begin, but will switch to show scheduled closures. If we've missed one, email Education Week: [email protected] edweek.org/ew/section/mul…

Update: 581 schools have closed or are due to close b/c of the #coronavirus, affecting 414,836 students. Two ways of thinking about it: 1) That's less than 1% of U.S. public school enrollment. 2) That's higher than enrollment in Chicago public schools. edweek.org/ew/section/mul…

This afternoon, EdWeek staff received an email from our CEO, Michele Givens, with the subject line “A Labor Day weekend message.” She says a union is right for other places but not for EdWeek, and that the union belongs to a “national third-party.” We know this isn’t true. (1/4)

Happy Labor Day! We are celebrating by reflecting on the amazing outpouring of support we've received from colleagues, peers, and Education Week readers. We're excited to help shape a bright future for this great publication and everyone who helps make it.
