Today I joined 10 other Philly elected officials and sent a letter to Penn President Jameson announcing our support for the postdoctoral workers forming a union with UAW. We're calling on Penn to agree to a fair and transparent election process.

Yesterday, grad workers joined dozens of unions, immigrant rights groups, community organizations, and thousands of workers to march in celebration of May Day. Solidarity united Philadelphians across sectors and backgrounds to demand a future for the workers, not billionaires!

Grad workers won big at bargaining on Friday because we’ve been ramping up the pressure on Penn admin, but we can’t stop now. Join us this Wednesday, May 7th at 6:00PM for a General Membership Meeting to discuss our plan to win and next steps going forward! 💪

Last week, over 140 grad workers met to discuss our strategy to win a strong contract. Then, on Sunday, we chilled & grilled to celebrate our bargaining victories and the end of the academic year. Grads are ready to fight to win better wages and benefits and uphold our rights!
