Miriam and I enjoyed meeting members of the Azzjoni Kattolika of Żejtun who visited us this morning at Sant'Anton Palace.

Yesterday evening, the book 'George Vella - Il-President li għandu ħafna xi jgħid' was launched. It takes a closer look at Dr Vella's career, encompassing all the positions he has held, including his role of President of Malta since 2019.

This morning, I presented certificates to 43 new officers of the Armed Forces of Malta. While I once again congratulate them all, I would like to thank the Armed Forces of Malta for their work in the interest of the common good of our country.

Today, Miriam and I received proceeds from an activity held by the Zejtun Local Council and the Mediterranean Regional Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine on 26th March. The event, which included free consultations by specialised practitioners, was held in aid of the MCCF.

Today I received European Parliament President Roberta Metsola at the Grand Master’s Palace . I underlined the important role of the European Parliament in participatory democracy & the focus placed on the citizens. I thanked Dr Metsola for her cooperation during my Presidency term.

I visited the @maltapolice & thanked the management & members of the force for their commitment to protect the citizens. Commissioner Angelo Gafà explained the changes that the force is implementing as part of the transformation strategy & the modernisation of the Police HQ.

This morning we celebrated the 45th anniversary of Freedom Day in a commemorative ceremony in Vittoriosa.

I had the pleasure to receive a courtesy visit from H.E. Frank Zammit, Ambassador of Malta to the Holy See. The exchange focused on the recent visit to The Holy See. I thanked the Ambassador for his visit & asked him to convey my best wishes to His Holiness Pope Francis.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Martin Peter Farrell and Ms Ruth Farrell. We had a wonderful discussion about Mr Farrell’s book “Riħa ta’ Ġiżimin u Stejjer Oħra”. I thanked him for his generous initiative to donate proceeds to The Malta Community Chest Fund.

This morning it was a pleasure to receive a farewell call by the Leader of the Opposition Bernard Grech at the end of my Presidency. During the meeting, I expressed my appreciation for his constant cooperation with the Office of the President.

It was a pleasure to receive a farewell call from Imam Mohammed Elsadi & representatives of the Muslim community in Malta. I expressed my appreciation for their cooperation with the Office of the President, particularly in matters concerning inter-religious dialogue in Malta.

Amid many emotions, Miriam and I bid farewell and thanked the Armed Forces of Malta soldiers, Police officers & all the Palace staff for the last time. Their dedication and commitment was crucial in the work we carried out together throughout this Presidency. Thank you so much.
