First responders are working a crash involving an 18-wheeler and 6 vehicles on southbound IH 35 near the 257-mile marker. All southbound lanes are closed at this time. Please seek an alternate route. We do not currently have an ETA for the roadway being cleared.

UPDATE 10:24AM: We are still actively working the scene and estimating another 2 hours before we can open IH-35 back up.

⚠️Heads up, #GeorgetownTX: San Gabriel and Blue Hole parks are CLOSED due to flooding of the San Gabriel River. Additional streets may be closed as rain continues and the river continues to rise. ⚠️Stay away from the area and watch this space for updates.

9:15 a.m. update: We are advising residents of Two Rivers, San Gabriel, and Waters Edge apartments to evacuate due to the rising river levels. Shelter is available at the Georgetown Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Ave., and First United Methodist Church, 410 E. University Ave.

10:25AM update: Georgetown Animal Shelter, VFW Post, Masonic Lodge, Holly Street Village, and San Gabriel Crisis Center are being evacuated. All shelter animals are being moved to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Avoid the area if possible.

11AM update: Austin Avenue bridges have been closed to through traffic and pedestrian traffic until further notice. This closure is due to concerns about the number of people stopping on the bridges and the possibility of debris hitting the bridges.
