In my polymer course, I teach that atactic polymers are usually amorphous, and isotactic and syndiotactic polymers are usually semicrystalline with different crystal structures. Methylated PHBs are all crystalline and isomorphic regardless of tacticity! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…

For the chemists out there, this research started in the early 2000's as one of my job proposals. It only took 20 'short' years to get it to market! Kudos to Zengquan Qin from Coates Group who discovered the catalyst, and Scott Allen and the Novomer folks for their hard work.
