Discussed generative AI in the classroom w/ colleagues recently. My assumption is AI disrupts the "writing -> thinking -> learning" process and so inhibits learning. But what do we actually know about how learning works in the context of generative AI?

No, YOU'RE the one jamming to your APSA hotel's on-hold music because the travel agency your university uses had a hard time with adding a second name to your hotel reservation. (Not that bad tbh, this is mostly just my anxiety getting the better of me)

THREAD: Yesterday, the @NYTimes reported that, with the election approaching, “nobody in the Capitol is trying very hard to pretend” that Congress is doing anything more than holding show-votes on partisan campaign messages dressed up as legislation. But that isn’t quite true.

Interesting model. It might not be that executive orders are any less durable than congressional legislation, just that legislation (as opposed to executive orders) is correlated with stronger support from the interest group environment.

The "nonpartisan"ship of the Nebraska Unicam is much ballyhooed, but more interesting to me is that it caps the number of bills members can introduce but guarantees each a hearing (not necessarily a committee vote though).

Four years after #Jan6th, 66% of Republicans believe the 2020 election was stolen while Trump continues to cry fraud. Can we reduce these dangerous beliefs? 🚨Yes! As my new registered report (in principle accepted Journal of Politics @[email protected]) shows... (osf.io/rbcdt). (1/7)
