The completion of this project is a big milestone for UETCL that deserves recognition. UETCL completed this project within 18 months of construction and on 18th November 2023, the Achwa - Gulu- Agago 132kV transmission line was energized. #GuluAgagoCommissioning

Hon. Hon Okaasai Opolot- MINISTER OF STATE FOR ENERGY State Minister for Energy has commissioned the 132kV Gulu-Agago Achw Transmission Project at the Agago Substation in Pader District. This line was completed and energised on 18th November 2023 and evacuates power from Achwa 83MW HPP. #GuluAgagoCommissioning

Eng. Richard Matsiko The project was financed through a loan of EUR 40 million from KfW Development Bank. This amount covered the cost of the transmission line and associated substations. The Government of Uganda financed the supervision, land acquisition and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) Implementation costs.
