Last night I dreamed I started an art rock band called Citizens of Wichita

These cooler days have me dreaming of the Catskills.   A stone patio, a fire pit, a house tucked away in the woods, a pumpkin by the woodshed, trees changing, a few leaves drifting to the ground. I painted this commission last fall for some friends in Margaretville.

You have to take a different approach when painting Los Angeles. Apply a wash of golden light so it always feels like late afternoon. Paint in the pale greens of yucca and agave. Splash soft purple shadows from the eaves of a Highland Park four square.

Tonight is the NEW YORK KNICKS home opener at Madison Square Garden. I painted the crowd and the court and the concave ceiling of the storied arena for New York or Nowhere. Here's the 18" x 24" watercolor in my studio.
