Northampton’s media team are really good at producing these behind-the-scenes insights. Maybe not an advisable watch for a Leinster fan but interesting to see the Saints’ bond and their emphasis on ‘connection’, even at FT. Fraser Dingwall a brilliant communicator, too.

TNT’s Champions League coverage is unforgivably bad. I actually think Owen Hargreaves is pretty good but the rest of it is fucking abysmal considering it’s a subscription service.

Will refuse to pay my TV licence as a matter of principle if Patrick Kielty doesn’t interview Tom Brady, Nadine Coyle and Joe Duffy at the same time tonight

Messing around volunteer players, coaches, and fans to adhere to a rule that we all know is going to be changed anyway. Maddening idiocy. The OfficialCorkCamogie and Waterford Camogie panels should just play the game between themselves like Rocky Balboa v Apollo Creed III.

Lord above, what a moment. Peter O’Mahony in his final appearance at Thomond Park, with his final touch of a ball at the ground, rolls back the years for Munster with a stunning try finish. Downward pressure looked okay I think…

In fairness to Patrick Kielty, I’ve seen a fair few Tom Brady interviews and that was among the most enjoyable. And in fairness to Brady, he practiced for 20+ years what he preached in the interview. Played with hundreds upon hundreds of teammates and they all loved him.

Sensational by Anthony Cacace who stops Leigh Wood in the ninth round in Wood’s hometown of Nottingham. Cacace single-handedly making up for all the Irish B-sides who were sent to the slaughter in British rings in recent years. But what a legend Leigh Wood is. A born fighter.

I enjoy his honesty and this goes against my better instinct as a sports journalist, but surely at some stage United’s media officer has gotta be like, ‘Y’know, Ruben, I think you’ve already described how shit your team is in enough detail for this week.’

Keith Ricken’s intuition when it comes to dealing with young sportspeople is a rare thing. He gets to the core of underage sport like few others — and it invariably shows in his teams. I love listening to him speak about it.

A lot of things to be said about Munster but I’d say the most important is that Tom Farrell should tour with Ireland in the summer. Coaches have already washed their hands of the tour so you can’t pretend it’s ‘for the future’. Give him the cap(s) that his form deserves.

Genuine masterclass by Adam Summerton and Don Hutchison on TNT Sport in the aftermath of Napoli’s title win. They’ve basically riffed an hour-long Napoli/Scott McTominay podcast while awaiting the trophy presentation — all of it brilliant. Two of the best comms/analysts on TV.

It’s arrived! (Like Christmas morning for auld eejits here 😂) Next step is, I’m told, distribution. And then a launch session on Tuesday 10 June at Books Upstairs Merrion Press

Jack Crowley told Mike Adamson, “It’s grand, I’m playing🤷🏻‍♂️” during the Jaden Hendrikse hullaballoo. Stayed calm to make his kick and then gave the Sharks both barrels. A moment that might get lost in the defeat, ultimately, but will resonate with Crowley’s teammates for sure.

The fallout from this has been brilliant fun tbh. Somehow it’s going to add spice to Ireland v South Africa in November even though Hendrikse won’t be within an ass’s roar of the Boks’ squad and Beirne will probably be the only Munster starter. The terminally online derby
