1/ Yesterday I published an article in UnHerd arguing that the situation leading up to the French riots is being driven by high food prices and low consumption. I presented INSEE data showing a 17% drawdown in food consumption, totally unprecedented in recent history. Chart 👇

#Trainspotting is 30 years old today. I maybe should say that it seems like yesterday and where has all gone. But no. The truth is it feels ages ago, not just a different era but a different life lived by another person.

Lots are struggling with money for rent, deposits, education fees or new household items Thanks to the Refugee Integration Loan, refugees can get an *interest-free loan* from the government More evidence of two-tiered Britain. British taxpayers come last - yet foot the bill

This is so surreal. The socialist Spanish minister uses a private jet to attend a climate conference. 100 metres before the venue she gets out off the limo and takes a bicycle. The security cars follow her.

1/6 The first wartime SAS veteran I met was Malcolm Pleydell (2 from right) in 1998, author of the superb ‘Born of the Desert’. One of the best passages in the book described the events of mid July 1942 when he & 20 other SAS were at Bir el Quseir. Stirling & Mayne were in Cairo,

Yikes, Lotus sold only 576 cars in 2022, resulting in a financial loss for the year of £141M. That works out at -£245,000/car sold, no wonder the list price of the Emira has gone up recently. Here's hoping production properly ramps up in 2023.. thetimes.co.uk/article/lotus-…
