I like metropolis theme for Beamer but also like bright colors of new Stata. Any suggestions for a complementary Beamer scheme?

Truth. I have anecdotes in both directions. To make projections about the future, need to provide a sense of why TEs differ for different groups/setting. are large TEs something have we expect more of, are they controlled by firm or not, in what way (hiring, monitoring) etc.

FWIW, I don’t think Goldin says we *should* make all careers like pharmacists. She is saying if it happened for organic/technological reasons then there would be a much smaller gender gap.

But if you think this is important, don’t you agree with Ruxandra Teslo 🧬 —improved technology would be hugely beneficial? She is arguing that technology is woefully inadequate to the goals of women and should improve.

LLMs are indeed very powerful but they are only safe to use if you’re a domain expert, in your domain of expertise, precisely becuase they’re such smooth talkers. Never been a better time to learn to distinguish between what sounds good and what is true.

Agree with this take. If you can afford it, do it! The demands on your time and impact on productivity are higher post PhD. All of the worries that ppl will judge you are in your head (with the exception of irrelevant people, whose judgements don’t affect anything anyway).

The future: integrating code and paper. For every number reported in a paper, you could click on it and be taken to the line in the code that creates that number. Would automatically generate a lot of code review.
