Part of my alphabet series, X is for Kings Cross station - a bit of a cheat I know but honestly, finding an interesting subject for a linocut beginning with an X defeated me! 😊 A London Alphabet Oct 10th - 3rd Nov ⁦Eames Fine Art⁩

After my talk on Wright of Derby, I went to see his house, near Derby Cathedral. A sorry sight; derelict, under threat of demolition, occupied by squatters. A sad way to remember one of our artistic giants!

I once had this exciting plan to create a linocut for each of the 14 London terminus stations - that is, UNTIL I CAME TO MY SENSES 😬 Anyway, here is one of the handful I did manage to do - V is for Victoria Station ā€˜A London Alphabet’ ⁦Eames Fine Art⁩

Y is for Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese - you couldn’t have an alphabet of London without a pub in there so here’s a tribute to one of the thousands of public houses we’re lucky enough to have in this great city… A London Alphabet Until this Sunday (3rd Nov) ⁦Eames Fine Art⁩

Because of everything that’s been in the news this week, I thought I’d share my linocut ā€˜New Day Dawning’ - it seemed appropriate somehow šŸ™ #linocut #Londonart #kingscrossstation

Here’s the Regent’s Canal with one of the magnificent Bethnal Green gas holders in the distance. 555 flats are now being built on the site, some of which are to be squeezed into the two gas holders - a sad ending to 150 years of London’s history… šŸ™ #bethnalgreen #regentscanal

After 13 years I’ve decided to stop posting on here - if any of you lovely people would like to carry on seeing what I’m up to, you can find me on Bluesky and on Instagram (also on Threads, sort of…) Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a nice view of Albert Bridge 😊
