Proud of IanMiller Ali Zamat and team on this work in Nature Biomedical Engineering! We show that thermal control of CAR T cells markedly improves tumor therapy and reduces relapse rates Coulter BME | Emory & Georgia Tech Shout out also to Saul “Cancer Asskicker” Priceman and lab members for a great collaborative study! City of Hope

In 2019, a think tank on synthetic biomarkers for #CancerEarlyDetection was organized by nick Sudhir Srivastava, Sharmistha Ghosh-Janjigian, sangeeta bhatia (same on bsky) and Gambhir Lab @ Stanford. We wrote this review to summarize the current science. We need more big brains to help solve this problem!

Wondering what #GlympseBio has been doing to make our lives healthier? See our collaborative and multi-year study on translating #SyntheticBiomarkers for #NASH now at Science Translational Medicine!

Feels like opening night for Glympse Bio: past President of AASLD, Dr. Sanyal, sharing the first patient data for a liquid biopsy for NASH via protease activity profiles. Congrats to the team. Mic drop! #livermtg21

Congrats to @BrandonHolt82, Niren Murthy Berkeley Bioengineer and team for identifying a dimensionless parameter that can predict the success of bacterial #prodrugs - including those that are activated by proteases!

How many different types of T cells are in our body? 100s of millions in fact! Led by Ida Su in collaboration with Philip J. Santangelo and Rafi Ahmed - we use light to produce lipid nanoparticles that can deliver mRNA only to T cells that are specific for disease Science Advances

Since 2014, the FDA has approved 7 immune checkpoint inhibitors, but not all patients benefit from therapy. Quoc Mac, Anirudh Sivakumar and Coulter BME | Emory & Georgia Tech team show that #syntheticbiomarkers of T cells can indicate early response and discriminate resistance to treatment. Congrats!

Gabe Kwong and his collaborators have developed biosensors for the quick assessment of patient response and resistance in a frontline cancer immunotherapy. What a thrill and humbling honor to be selected for the NIH Common Fund Pioneer Award! All the more special to be with my esteemed colleagues Johnny Blazeck, Felipe Quiroz, and Aaron Young who were named New Innovator recipients! #NIHHighRisk

Thrilled to announce our ARPA-H #CancerMoonshot award to support an exceptional team including Tal Danino BlazeckLab Min Xue and Peng Qiu Coulter BME | Emory & Georgia Tech to map the degradome atlas for #CancerEarlyDetection!

Thanks for stopping by President Ángel Cabrera!

Sharing our work on logic sensing of T cells to kick off the new year! Big congrats to Anirudh Sivakumar for leading this collaborative effort with M.G. Finn @GT_chem and Peng Qiu Coulter BME | Emory & Georgia Tech

Most tumors can't be recognized by CAR T cells because they resemble normal cells. But now Lena Gamboa Ali Zamat and Coulter BME | Emory & Georgia Tech colleagues report the design of synthetic antigens to mark cancer cells for elimination in Nature Cancer. Congrats! Read here: tinyurl.com/syntag1
