Let’s get children singing again. We Singing Playgrounds Singing Medicine spent the day with Graham Welch at the Future Fwd conference remembering the Sing Up days, being reminded of his research showing why singing is SO good for children, primary schools, and just everyone…

Barry Fletcher is passionate about the future of our youth - he is sharing his thoughts on how we can best design and implement programmes that will enable our young people to transition into the world of work.

🌟 James Uffindell and Stephanie Kerr running an interactive session with students, talking about the importance of soft-skills; the ability to build connections and relationships; and the ‘90/30 rule’ - the idea that the first 30 seconds makes up 90% of first impressions.

Jonathan Harper from Future Foundations discussing the characteristics that make a good leader - and says that attitude is the most important thing. 🌟 “Leadership is not simply about ‘what you did’, but ‘who you empowered’ and ‘what legacy you left’”

Sarah Seleznyov from Big Education 🌎 running a workshop on ‘new leadership approaches for new ways of thinking about school.’

🧰 Including the Big 8 toolkit - the first part of which is ‘connecting’; releasing information about yourself in order build a knowing and understanding as a human being, building trust, and establishing a relationship with other people to get them on board with your mission.

🗣️ Delegates and students are continuing the positive conversations from yesterday during thought-provoking roundtable discussions. It is great to hear delegates collaborate, but also challenge each other in order to determine which steps can be taken next to make a true impact.

👂As we near the end of this year’s conference, we welcome all delegates to listen to our roundtable discussion leads, as they feed back on their stream’s discussions and outline the next steps that their group have committed to in order to make positive change.

We conclude this year’s conference as it began; hearing the thoughts of our Founder, Richard Nicholson.

In his closing remarks, Richard reflects on the feedback provided by the roundtable discussions leads, and reminds all delegates that following the positive discussions from the last two days, we must ACT on these discussions if we are to make the impact that we all want to see.
