Amazon is testing a new “AI English Dub” feature for anime and it’s genuinely fucking putrid and insanely disrespectful to actual human actors who put their life and soul into both the Dubs and Subs of these shows Fuck you Prime Video Amazon

Hey Prime Video, using AI to replace anyone involved in the dubbing process is atrocious and disrespectful, to say the least. There are so many of us who are passionate about this work - let us do what we love rather than using bots to replace us.

Amazon has opted to use AI for dubs of Banana Fish, including English. It sounds terrible. If you've enjoyed our work, if you've ever wanted to be a VA yourself, consider voicing your displeasure by cancelling your subscription.

Quietly walking back the AI English dubs doesn’t mend the fact that Amazon had: Changed IMDB to put dubbing outside the category of general acting. Made AI dubs of non-English languages. Opted for AI before ACTUALLY dubbing/streaming existing dubs for the shows they targeted.

Justice for the Latin American actors too~ don’t rest just because the English is down. We support all voice actors globally! Please respect their work and passions too!
