Catholic Twitter: can we spend an equal amount of time being grateful for the good bishops now? I am personally blessed with two of the best bishops in the US now, and I am sure others out there can say some good things about their bishops.

Theologically, humans are not defined primarily by biology but by our nature as both body AND soul united. If aliens exist with bodies proportionate to souls & souls, they would be like the native Americans 600 years ago: humans who do not know about Jesus's salvation who we are

Do we really go to an encounter of persons like Mary did, or do we see others merely as a means to some end we seek? Our modern society emphasizes efficacy where we can lose the personal touch that makes it truly human.

People occasionally ask me about my banner. It is a photo I took of the chapel at Madonna House Apostolate. I think it is beautiful, I had some wonderful prayer there, & it is one of the few chapels that is set up to celebrate both Roman & Byzantine liturgy well.

I think this notes the difference between secular & Catholic sexual morality. In the secular world, consent alone is sufficient; while we consider consent to be a necessary, but not sufficient, condition.

It's wonderful to see the beauty of God's creation. Look up tomorrow night if you are in the north.

If nation X asks someone to work helping them in a foreign county, & that person is now likely to be executed BECAUSE they helped nation X, X has a special obligation to bring in that person as a refugee. (I've heard of this with the US too, but I've not seen a number this big.)
