In the spirit of understanding UK PPE guidelines there have been repeated attempts to engage with policymakers. Their replies have not been helpful. We call upon UK CMOs to issue the rationale for the current denial of FFP3 for COVID19-facing healthcare workers. #FreshAirNHS

theguardian.com/world/2021/febโ€ฆ Coughing generates x10 aerosols as breathing/talking - patients free to cough on normal wards. CPAP on ITU attenuates aerosols. ITU has lower corona rates. Staff sickness: normal wards >> ITU. ITU staff use PPE to control for aerosols.

Letter sent by The BMA to every NHS England CEO. COVID-19 risk to healthcare workers in the NHS *can* be reduced, and exemplar Trusts have led the way with FFP3 use. Current guidance requires a risk assessment before deciding whether to use lesser protection.

Fresh air is not just important in hospitals - workplaces and especially schools can take these simple measures to help limit spread of the virus causing Covid-19. Think smoke, and act accordingly. #FreshAirNHS #COVIDisAirborne youtu.be/sMwrxwFPJSg

FreshAirNHS are pleased to see that after a lengthy worldwide campaign, the benefits of airborne protection have finally been accepted at the highest levels. Well done World Health Organization (WHO) !

A study is planned into whether healthcare workers really need respiratory protection against diseases like COVID-19. They've asked NIHR for ยฃ1.1million. We have significant concerns & would urge you to write to NIHR if you share them. Our draft letter: freshairnhs.com/2022/02/04/wipโ€ฆ
