He was the soulless utilitarianism of our spreadsheet-brained age embodied in one person. Nothing was sacred to him: you may see our heritage & countryside, he saw £$ signs. He would have just auctioned off the whole country to China and had done with it if he could

A mysterious 8 person Chinese company with ties to TikTok said they would buy up to $300M of Trump meme coin. I wonder if we'll ever see that TikTok ban go through?!

In a clear sign Mayor Rahman has learned nothing from LBTH failing its Best Value inspection, last night he removed Cllr Asma Islam 🌹 + Mufeedah Bustin as Chairs of Overview & Scrutiny and Audit Committees. I can't help thinking that's 'cos both have been asking too many good questions

Such an important point from Susanna Rustin “the shift away from the class politics of redistribution towards the identity politics of personal expression suits them (multinational corporations)” Capitalism ❤️ divisive identity politics theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

This must have been what it felt like in late antiquity as the Roman empire fell apart and people gradually lost the ability to read classical texts

SNP's crap record on housebuilding blamed on 'difficult financial settlement' from UKGov despite Scotland still getting to run 2x the deficit ratio of SW1. If UK ran an SNP-esque deficit it would clear £200bn...

Fun fact: It took Ben Hopkinson longer to get permission to visit Waltham Forest’s planning archive than it did to get permission to build a block of flats in 1937. cityam.com/the-secret-to-…

The govt says London needs to build 88,000 homes a year. The latest data from Molior London, published today, shows private housebuilding is running at 1/20th of that figure. (1/)

What an absolute travesty. I am speechless. I think More in Common is correct, I am a ‘disgruntled dissenter’. I just can’t see a way out from our political malaise. In doesn’t matter what rosette the politician is wearing, all I see are anti-growth, anti-housing, anti-culture,

"Building in Towns and Cities" is not YOUR BACKYARD for the conservatives. It is SOMEONE ELSES backyard and NOT in YOUR BACKYARD which is just, of course, bog standard Nimbyism.

The average tube station rn has 2 staff members on their phone in an office and an aggressive amount of ugly signs reminding you you’ll either be a victim of a crime, preemptively reminding you of one, or awkwardly baby-ing you. Nothing is geared towards a pleasant experience!

What if the public is a lot more pro-building than generally thought? That's what new Public First research finds - young people, Labour supporters and Londoners are most likely to be YIMBY. They're just not making their views heard to local councils. publicfirst.co.uk/wp-content/upl…
