Mr. Baker's ACP Psychology students engaged in some fun challenges using distortion goggles to learn how the brain perceives sensory inputs and can make adjustments when things don't seem normal.

Mrs. Geesey's Principles of Agriculture class was shown a demonstration of how drones can be used to spread seed to grow crops.  Thank you, Nathan Bush, from Whirlybird Drones!  21st century agriculture for 21st century students!

Mrs. Suttles' Japanese classes learn about Japanese culture including cuisine.  Recently, they made onigiri (rice balls).  FCHS is one of the few schools in the state that offers Japanese, giving our students a unique option for learning a world language.

Mrs. Geesey's Animal Science class is learning about food products that come from livestock.  They learned how to make mozzarella cheese which, of course, they used to make pizzas.

Our government students learned about the history of voting in America and got to experience using a real voting machine to vote for their favorite fictional characters.

The FCHS FFA Crops team competed at the Area VI Crops Evaluation Contest yesterday in Hamilton County. The team placed 4th overall.  This high placing has secured them a spot to compete at the State FFA Crops Evaluation Contest at Purdue University on Saturday, December 14th!

When FCHS is short on substitute teacher coverage, Principal Ahaus steps up and helps out, even if it means teaching about early childhood development!

Mr. Billings' Environmental Science students completed projects to come up with solutions to local environmental problems.  We have some very creative young minds at FCHS!

FCHS teachers recognize students have different learning styles that require multiple approaches to instruction. In lieu of a traditional essay, Mr. Smith gave his English students the opportunity to analyze famous speeches and represent their components visually with dioramas.

Congratulations to FCHS seniors Anna Brumley and Kalli Cadwell on the Johnson County Community Foundation’s recent announcement as Lilly Scholarship recipients. This prestigious scholarship provides full-tuition to any Indiana college or university.

Congrats to the Franklin FFA Crops Evaluation Team who competed at the State Contest at Purdue University. The team of Connor Williams, Natalie Carter, Norrah Harmening, and Madylin Norris placed 20th in the state!
