With five minutes to go and only a one-goal deficit for UNH, tensions are high. About seven skaters have hit the ice in the last few minutes as the teams exchange rapid shots. 3-2 NU

Head coach Dave Flint didn't mince words after No.6 NEU's loss to UNH ended their undefeated conference streak. "Terrible effort, terrible execution. We didn't deserve to win the game, so we got what we deserved… Nobody impressed me. We were bad through the whole lineup."

The first period ended without event, just one NU penalty that was killed off. Shots on goal were 10 to 6, the Huskies leading. Second period starts now.

Junior forward Allie Lalonde just got the first goal of the game off an Eloise Caron assist. It's also Lalonde's second of the season! 1-0 NU

And that's another Allie Lalonde goal! It's now 2-0 NU seven minutes into the second period.

Both teams picked up the pace in the second period, but NU outshot BC 12-9. Only one penalty has been called in the whole game, which is rare for these teams. Still 2-1 NU. Third period starting soon.

Six minutes into the third period, BC’s Madelyn Murphy received a penalty for interference, but despite seven shots on the power play, the Huskies came up empty.

THATS A HAT TRICK FOR ALLIE LALONDE!! She just notched her fifth goal of the season and third of the game. It's her first career hat trick.

Northeastern wins 3-1. Jonsson took 17 saves, and shots on goal were 40-18 for NU. It was a necessary win after Tuesday's fumble against UNH. Tomorrow is the final Matthews game!
