4/4: The core FPS grapevine collection holds over 2,100 selections, and more are added every year. The Phase 1 greenhouse will not fit them all, and we are planning to construct a 14,400 square foot screenhouse in Phase 2 of the project.

In a first-ever study of insects' ability to hitchhike on cars, Agricultural Research Service researchers found evidence that #spottedlanternfly is doing just that. In wind flow tests, #SLF nymphs and adults could stick to vehicles moving as fast as 60 mph. #graperesearch tinyurl.com/545hmavy

In #graperesearch funded by CA Dept. of Pesticide Regulation, Lodi Wine Growers enlisted #detectordogs to ID the presence of GLRaV-3 and vine mealybug in vineyards. They successfully sniffed out leafroll infection 93.4% and VMB 97.3% of the time, and ruled out leafroll ~100%. tinyurl.com/3smxedjr
