I was honored to attend Collin County’s 27th Annual Child Advocate Appreciation Luncheon today where Frisco Detective McFarland was recognized as a finalist. I want to thank our entire Child Crimes Unit for their dedication to seeking justice for child victims.

Congratulations to Frisco Police Crisis Negotiation team for placing 3rd out of 33 teams from across the country in the 35th Annual Hostage Negotiation Competition at Texas State University. This team demonstrated why most of our critical incidents end in a peaceful surrender.

Each year I’m amazed by the stories and maturity of these finalists for the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County Youth of the Year Award. It was a privilege to judge three great presentations.
